Ryuta TERADA, on behalf of the Marine Botany Lab at Kagoshima University, welcomes prospective students interested in the field of Phycology.
Our lab is involved in various projects focused on understanding the specific diversity, life history, and ecology of marine algae. Additionally, we also study corals, seagrass, and their ecosystems alongside seaweeds. Recently, we received a grant from the Japanese government to investigate the impact of climate change on marine organisms.
We welcome students from all around the world to join us. However, having a certificate of English proficiency and securing scholarship funding for participation in our activities is essential.
水圏植物学研究室では，学内外を問わず研究を希望する学生さんを歓迎します。
研究室では，熱帯・亜熱帯性海藻の種多様性や生活史，海藻群落の維持機構に関して広く研究しています。対象物は海藻に限らず，海産顕花植物やサンゴ，生態系そのものを扱うことも可能です。近年では，温暖化等の環境変動が海産植物の群落形成や種多様性におよぼす影響を多方面で研究しています。
4年生は，鹿児島大学水産学部水産学科水産生物・海洋学分野および教員養成課程の学生さんを受け入れています。大学院では学内のみならず，学外の学生さんも受け入れています。
