いちき串木野市でサンゴ・藻場調査 (Field survey in Kushikino City)

M1のW邊君がいちき串木野市のサンゴ・海藻混生群集で潜水調査をおこないました。
MS student, Yuki, carried out his field survey at Kushikino City, Kagoshima Prefecture. He focuses on to elucidating the characteristics of seaweed / corals communities in relation to the climate changes.

鹿児島県川辺町でオキチモズクのモニタリング (Nemalionopsis tortuosa)

 鹿児島県南九州市川辺町でオキチモズクの生育状況をモニタリングしました。オキチモズクは水のきれいな用水路や小川に生育する淡水紅藻で，環境省レットリストの絶滅危惧種です。

モニタリングポイントにいってみると・・・ありました。
We conducted annual survey of Nemalionopsis tortuosa  in Kagoshima Prefecture. This species can be found in the clean creek at the country side, and is recorded as an endangered species by Japanese Ministry of Environment.

かごしま環境未来館で海藻押し葉作成会 (Seaweed art workshop in Kagoshima Musem of Environment)

先週の海藻観察会に引き続き，鹿児島市のかごしま環境未来館で海藻押し葉講座をおこないました。

はじめに，海藻押し葉の作り方や標本のことを説明しました。
As the second event of seaweed hosted by Kagoshima Museum of Environment, there was a small workshop to make a seaweed art. Our laboratory members attended as the instructor.
Before starting, I told the importance of coastal environment and characteristics of seaweed community as the primary producer.

豊岡市と小浜市で調査

今年もここにやってきました。竹野町。

 海の中で黒く見えるところはすべて藻場です。

神戸大の調査に参加 (Filed survey in Hyogo Prefecture)

桜島で海藻観察会をした2時間後，九州新幹線に乗って兵庫県に移動しました。神戸大の研究グループが淡路島と豊岡市竹野で実施する藻場調査に参加するためです。夜10時をまわってしまいましたが，淡路島にある神戸大マリンサイトに無事到着しました。
After I finished the seaweed observation program in Sakurajima, I moved to Awajishima Island of Hyogo Prefecture via Kobe by Shinkansen. Because I arrived at marine station of Kobe University at 10 o'clock, It was around five hours trip.

 翌朝，淡路島の南部で調査をしました。神戸大，鹿児島大，三重大，水産大，瀬戸内水研による合同調査です。
Next morning, I attended the field survey of Kobe University. Phycologists of some other institutions including Mie University, National Fisheries University also attended.

紀淡海峡に面したこの場所には，カジメやホンダワラ類の豊かな藻場が残されています。天候に恵まれ，予定通りに調査は終了しました。ここから・・・
It was absolutely beautiful seaweed forest. I think that the species richness of this site might be relatively higher than other places in Osaka Bay.
After we finished today's survey, we moved to....

かごしま環境未来館の海藻観察会(Seaweed-Watching Event by Kagoshima Museum of Environment)

連休最終日，かごしま環境未来館の環境学習講座として海藻観察会を行いました。天候に恵まれ，楽しい観察会になりました。
We had a seaweed-watching event for the public at Sakurajima yesterday as the official event of Kagoshima Museum of Environment. More than 15 people attended.

アマモの花

鹿児島のアマモは今が最盛期で，海中で花を観察できます。水産植物学を受講している学生のみなさん，講義で話をした「アマモの花」をここに載せておきます。
