Coralline ball(マサゴバラ)

After finishing the coral survey in Tsushima Island, I came back home to attend a class of Marine Botany for undergraduate students on Monday morning. After finishing it, I returned to Nagasaki Prefecture to continue the another survey. Another one was held in Iki Island.

It was the survey for coral, however, algae was also interesting for me.

This is a species of coralline alga, but is known as "coralline ball" by its characteristic appearance.
