Annual meeting of the JSP, Sapporo（大学院生が日本藻類学会第36回大会に参加）

Nearly couples weeks ago, the 36th annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Phycology (JSP) was held at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, and three MS students of our lab attended.

先月のことになりますが，大学院生3名が北海道大学で開催された日本藻類学会第36回大会に参加しました。

For two of the three students, it was the first attendance to the academic conference. However, they didn't looks so nervous.

3人のうちの2人は初めての学会発表でしたが，全員頑張って発表していました。

Cladophora aegagropila

Just at the university museum, there was also the the special exhibition regarding the algae. This is the living Cladophora aegagropila.

It is interesting. This is the former entrance plate of the "old" Institute of Algological Research, Hokkaido University, Muroran branch. This old building was closed just a month ago, and the institution was moved to newly constructed building. Plate was transported to the museum as the new heritage.

一ヶ月前に新天地に移転した室蘭臨海実験所（旧：北海道大学理学部附属海藻研究施設）の看板が博物館資料になって展示されていました。なんだか感慨深げです。

Climate of Sapporo was pretty good with comfortable temperature and humidity. Next annual meeting will be held in Kofu City of Yamanashi Prefecture near Tokyo. 

初夏の札幌は天気もよく，なにより湿度が低くて快適でした。来年は山梨県で開催されます。
