桜島や喜入での調査実習 (Practical field work of coastal biodiversity in Kagoshima)

沿岸多様性生物学実習が3日から始まりました。鹿児島大学水産学部3年生向けの実習（2単位）で，前期開講前に集中して実施しています。今年も20名以上の学生が受講しています。

Practical field work of coastal biodiversity, a class for undergraduate students, has begun from last Sunday. More than twenty students attended.


Note: Generally, spring semester of Japanese national university begins from April. Fall semester begins from October. 

今日までに桜島での海藻とベントス相調査，ライントランセクト調査をおこない，明日以降は喜入などでの干潟調査に移ります。

The survey of flora and fauna of marine organisms, line-transect method were conducted at the volcanic rocky shore of Sakurajima Island, an island in the Kagoshima Bay. We will be having the survey at the muddy flat on next two days at Kiire village, southern part of the city.

鹿児島市街地のすぐそばに，ヒジキなどの藻場が広がっています。関東や関西の大学では実習地まで行くのに一日がかりですが，ここは大学から自転車とフェリー（150円，乗船時間約10分，24時間運行）に乗って約30分ほどで到着です。連日，現地集合・解散で実習をおこないました。

波も鏡のように穏やかで，ヒジキがよく見えました（干潮時刻には干出しました）。
