Field survey of Iwate Prefecture suggested that soils (including sand, artificial structure, and etc) piled on the coastal substrata by Tsunami disaster might be influenced to seaweed degradation. Researcher also suggested that 5-10 years might be needed to recover its ecosystem. Mainichi Shinbun (Newpaper), Tokyo, reported (Apr 26).
